Summer School 2001 PDF Print E-mail

OBJECTIVES

The aim of this Summer School is to provide graduate students, post docs, and last year undergraduates with exceptional marks and motivation for physics, of a general introductory overview of some of the most exciting topical developments on Condensed Matter and Nanoscopic Physics. The Summer School will consist on a series of introductory lectures given by internationally recognized leading experts. The school will span a wide range of topics across spin transport in nanostructures connected by common theoretical or experimental methods, with the main aim to give the students an overview of some of the most intriguing open questions and of the technical abilities required to be able to make successful top level research.

TOPICS

•  Preparation of magnetic nanostructures

•  Current driven magnetization reversal and domain wall movement

•  High-frequency magnetic dynamics on nanoscale

•  Magnetic tunnel junctions

•  Ultra sensitive detectors of magnetic field, biomedical and biological application of spintronic devices.

•  Magnetic trilayers and multilayers

•  Spintronics ( including magnetic semiconductor based )

•  Imaging of magnetic nanostructures

•  Vortices in magnetic and superconducting nanostructures

As well as during previous School on Magnetic Nanostructures organized in 2004, we plan participation of leading scientist from the field to guarantee interesting and fruitful scientific atmosphere.
