OBJECTIVES

  The main objective of the School is to review the new exciting trends in ion beam physics and applications with special emphasis on its potential for Nanotechnologies. The presentations are aimed to be accessible and useful to young students and scientists. The School is fostered by the creation of the new Center for Microanalysis of Materials (CMAM) at the Cantoblanco campus of UAM. It is equipped with a 5 MV tandem accelerator of the Cockroft-Walton type. It is expected that the School will also provide a forum to explore and discuss new scientific initiatives, particularly in relation to the VI framework program of the European Community.
